5. Mednarodna nagrada Leonarda da Vincija

5. International Award Leonardo da Vinci Milan, Italy

In early April, KUOLMi will receive the 5th International Leonardo da Vinci Award at the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci.
The award is reserved for artists who contribute to and influence the world with their artistic contributions, and who make a change on a global scale with their work.

"The award, as emphasized, is meant to be a symbolic recognition from the public for an important artistic career, which personally means a great deal to me."
Every person strives to do their work to the best of their abilities, but being able to influence the wider public is something that also gives personal satisfaction.
"It is one of the most prestigious awards given to the international community of artists, awarded in the heart of Milan, Italy, from where great names and a vast amount of quality works originate."

They will be shared in the presence of collectors, journalists, politicians, and art critics, who will carry our story forward, which I am immensely looking forward to.
On this occasion, the collection "CONTEMPORARY CELEBRITY MASTERS" Vol. II will also be released, which presents the life of Leonardo da Vinci and the works of this year's award winners of this prestigious award- which, from a personal perspective, is incomprehensible to me- that my works are placed alongside and considered, in the opinion of art critics, comparable to the works of such influential artists, as Leonardo da Vinci was. One never places oneself in this position, and I can still say that this position is not yet familiar to me.
The legacy of his art is so globally and multifaceted woven into our present, that if my works represent at least a piece of this vision of such an all-encompassing influence as his has, I feel that we are on the right path and I will continue this journey with great responsibility.

Winners, as I see, we are a gathered group from all over the world - from Canada, Georgia, Puerto Rico, Sweden, Finland, and of course this year also from Slovenia, and it will be a joy and honor for me to meet this colorful group of people, each trying to improve our world with their own idea.
"As far as I know, the award winners will receive a special handmade sculpture crafted by Florentine artists from Florence, which I will gladly take home - to my little studio, black and full of coal."
I must say that this award is not received by the creator in a way that they apply for the selection and are chosen, you receive it by recommendation and after a review of your works by art critics and curators. This means, that the news of me becoming a recipient of the award came like a bolt from the blue, a complete surprise and infinite joy.

I am happy that even though I feel like I am stuck in my studio, in my bubble of creation, I somehow create my works in a way that they tell a story on their own and that it resonates around the world.
"My wish is to give coal a new life and now it seems to me that it sings its tune quite loudly, for otherwise this award would not have come about."

The sentence with which I was informed about the award:
"In painting and sculpture, I find no difference, except that the sculptor carries out his work with more physical effort than the painter, while the painter carries out his work with more mental effort."
 Leonardo da Vinci
"With this quote from Leonardo da Vinci, I await you in Milan with a prestigious award that we are organizing in his honor."
