Marjeta Hribar prejela nagrado Michelangelo v Rimu

Marjeta Hribar received the Michelangelo award in Rome.

On Saturday, July 22, 2023, Marjeta Hribar, KUOLMi, received the international Michelangelo award in Rome. The award is intended for artists who are worthy of their artistic merits.

Painter, sculptor, architect, and poet Michelangelo Buonarroti is considered one of the most gifted artists of the Italian Renaissance. Among his works are the sculptures "David" and "Pieta" as well as the frescoes from the Sistine Chapel.
Michelangelo, born into a family of moderate wealth in banking, became an apprentice to a painter before studying in the sculptural gardens of the Medici family. This was followed by an extraordinary career for an artist who was recognized in his time for his artistic virtuosity. Michelangelo's characteristic style is muscular precision and realism combined with an almost lyrical beauty. Two preserved relief sculptures, "The Battle of the Centaurs" and "Madonna Sitting on a Staircase," are proof of his unique talent at the tender age of 16.
Although he always considered himself a Florentine, Michelangelo spent most of his life in Rome, where he died at the age of 88.
