The Story of Kuolmi Jewelry
TALES OF THE CATAPULT: Kuolmi, Marjeta Hribar
You probably already know Marjeta Hribar and her jewelry KUOLMi.

"Recently, we have been reading about him in the media, as even famous Hollywood actors are wearing him."
"She also shaped the heart of our Prometheus."

In the Miss Slovenia 2019 and 2018.

Do you know the STORY of her jewelry? This one is especially dear to us ...
Once upon a time, long ago, there was a wild world beyond nine mountains and nine waters, a forest full of moisture. It was a magical world of wild animals and plants, where no human foot had yet stepped. The sun warmed the vegetation, and mighty animals ran across the roots. In this naturally rich environment, new and new trees were constantly growing, while the old ones lay down to rest... They never died; they simply transformed into stone, which 20 million years later humans named – coal. Kuolm. Black gold.
"He carries so much energy within him that he has even been burned for heat and light."
The artist Marjeta Hribar Kuolmi excavates and says: "Don’t burn it, wear it."
"This is a story about a rock that travels through time, constantly changing, while enriching human lives."

"Why would we 'burn' and forget our history? Let's renew it in a way that preserves the heart and soul, the message and significance of our roots, while also becoming something new and innovative. Something we proudly carry and thereby showcase Slovenia's pride to the world."
This is how KUOLMi handmade coal jewelry is created ...

Nakit Kuolmi for the stars of music and film: This month, Zasavska jewelry designer and coal products creator Marjeta Hribar has received a very special honor. Her Kuolmi products were received by the nominees of the most prestigious global music awards, the Grammys. The event organizers invited her last year to design a special jewelry collection for this glamorous event. Since the event coincided with the Oscars, her jewelry was also received by famous actors.

Hribarjeva anticipates that the invitation was supported by an extensive, eight-page long profile interview that the largest internet art magazine from New York published with her last year. The event organizers recognized her unique style, ecological and sustainable principles of production, and the unique use of coal in fashion.

In the coming months, a new collection from Kuolmi is coming to the Slovenian market, inspired by the exclusive collection that traveled to America. This one also combines coal with semi-precious metals and will be unique, just like the gifts for the famous. The Women's Handball European Championship, hosted by Slovenia, awarded medals to the winners of the KUOLMi brand.

She is the recipient of the international awards Leonardo da Vinci, Pegasus, World Best Artists Prize, and the Michalangelo award.

"Bravo, Marjeta! May our 'coal' proudly travel the world!"
